Microsoft Windows 10: Home

Getting started with Windows 10

Windows 10?

Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system released by Microsoft, which was  officially unveiled in 2014.   Medical Center computers will start rolling out this newer version soon.

Do not confuse this with Office 2010.
Office 2010 is the group of actual programs; Access, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, etc.

What version of Windows do I have?

To determine which version of Windows you are running, boot up your computer and log in. Then:

  1. Hold down the Windows key on the keyboard and press the R key. This will open the Run box.
  2. Type winver into the Run box and click OK.

A window will appear displaying the version of Windows you are running.
