Standard Software

Each student is responsible to ensure proper licensing of any and all software that the student installs or has installed that is not provided by WFBMC.  

Standard Software Load          

  • Operating System is Windows 10 Enterprise
    • Windows Update: Click Start, select Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and then click Check for updates.
    • Install all “Important Updates”
    • DO NOT install the optional updates
    • Perform once a week
  • Monthly Patches and Updates
    • It is the student’s responsibility to run monthly updates on their device as these are released.
    • The schedule for release is the Friday after the 2nd Tuesday of each month they become available; after the 3rd Tuesday of every month they become mandatory (required reboot, cannot proceed without restarting.)
    • Must be connected to the hospital network to receive updates.
    • An icon appears in the system tray (lower-right) from Software Center 
    • Click and follow instructions to download and installed patches from ITS.
  • Sophos AV Scan (anti-virus)
    • Right click on the taskbar icon 
    • Open “Open Sophos EndPoint Security and Control”
    • Click “Yes”
    • Click “Scan My Computer”
    • This should be done once a week
  • Microsoft Office 2016 Professional with Office365
    • Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word

How to Disable Meeting Planner

MeetingPlanner is an Outlook room-scheduling Add-in used on the hospital campus. Students may safely disable:

In Outlook, go to File – Options

On the left click Add-Ins, then click Go next to Manage Com Add-ins

UN-check the MPOutlook Addin


Then it will quit bugging you, but if you ever need for some reason can turn it back on.
