Appropriate textbooks and other materials will augment your learning and supply points of view and information that may not be included in lecture. Lectures are not intended to be all inclusive or your exclusive source of information. A variety of pre- and self-directed learning materials will encourage you to search for appropriate information from sources other than lecture. Learning neuroanatomy is easier, for example, if you look at a variety of images of the nervous system, including brain sections, MRIs, drawings, etc. The library supplies access to array of excellent textbooks, both online and on its shelves.

You should have quick access to a brain atlas (online and/or print). Being able to refer to an atlas will be very helpful as you review functional systems, long pathways, blood supply and the effects of specific lesions. The best way to learn neuroanatomy is to repeatedly revisit the images.
Neuroanatomy.ca is an open-access resource from the University of British Columbia. This site offers 3D models, animations, and labeled anatomical sections to help you build a strong foundation in neuroanatomy
