EndNote: Installation

Getting EndNote

PC Users:

  1. Click -> ​zip icon EndNote20.3Inst.zip. You will be asked to authenticate using your ‘@wakehealth.edu’ credentials.
  2. Once authenticated, you will be taken to the .ZIP file folder page (see image).
  3. Click ‘Download’ from the menu
  1. Once the file is downloaded, Right-click the ZIP file and select “extract all”
  2. Select a destination and extract files
  3. From the extracted files, locate and run the installer file, EN20Inst.msi
  1. Complete the remaining default steps to finish the EndNote install
  2. If you get a request for the license key during the installation, cancel the installation and return to Step "3i".

 

MAC Users:

  1. Click -> EndNote20SiteInstaller.dmg, you will be asked to authenticate using your ‘@wakehealth.edu’ credentials.
  2. Once authenticated, you will be taken to the .ZIP file folder page (see image).
  1. Click ‘Download’ from the menu or the Download button
  2. Locate the downloaded EndNote20Installer.dmg file then follow the Mac Install Instructions

Find Full-text with Endnote

  1. In EndNote, go to EditPreferences and select Find Full Text.
  2. Check all four boxes.
  3. Paste the URL into the Open URL Path box. The url is for Wake Forest is https://wakehealth.ovidds.com/resolver/2937
  4. Paste this url in the Authenticate with box:  https://wake.idm.oclc.org/login?url=
  5.  Click to Apply the changes and click OK.

EndNote File Storage **warning**

Note: Keeping your endnote library (.enl or .txt) in any cloud based storage is highly discouraged. EndNote libraries kept in cloud based storage or on network drives have a tendency to become corrupted. Please keep any EndNote libraries stored on your hard drive.
