Continued Pharmacy Education (CPE)

ACPE is a national agency for accreditation of professional pharmacy degree programs and providers of continued education. ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) have developled a continued education credit tracking service called CPE Monitor. CPE Monitor will authenticate and store data for completed CPE units received by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from ACPE-accredited providers. Pharmacists and technicians must obtain a unique identifier from NABP to track registration and completion for CE courses.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is defined by ACPE as a "self-directed, ongoing, systematic and outcomes-focused approach to lifelong learning that is applied into practice. It involves the process of active participation in formal and informal learning activities that assists individuals in developing and maintaining continuing competence, enhancing their professional practice, and supporting achievement of their career goals."
