Comparisons of other citation management tools: Mendeley and Zotero

Introduction

While EndNote is available to our users with a WakeHealth email and is supported by Carpenter Library, there are other options that are free.

Mendeley and Zotero are both web-based free bibliographic citation managers.

The three programs are used to:

  • gather citations from several sources including databases,
  • store them online,
  • organize them in collections,
  • share them in online groups, and
  • place them in Word documents as in-text citations and bibliographies.
