The Carpenter Library (1st floor of Gray Building) and the Student Resource Center (3rd floor of BGCME) will reopen on July 6 with modified hours. Please check the website for updated hours: https://libcal.wakehealth.edu/hours/. You will note a number of social distancing changes in both locations that will include:

  • wearing masks while in either location will be mandatory as outlined by institutional policy
  • there will be fewer chairs in common and study rooms
  • fewer computers
  • limited people allowed in closed spaces
  • Plexiglass Sneeze Guard barriers have been installed at the information desks
  • markings on the floor to mark six feet
  • hand sanitizing stations have been added
  • overall occupancy by faculty/staff/students will be limited in both locations
  • Carpenter Library stacks will be closed to the public, but items will be available upon request
  • The following will not be available at either locations: anatomical models, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker

It is our effort to keep our users safe and in doing so, we will provide some sanitizing materials and the areas will be professionally cleaned at least twice a day, but it is acceptable and encouraged that you bring your own sanitizing options as well. Protect yourself and others by practicing social distancing, healthy hygiene habits (i.e. frequent hand washing/sanitizing), and all other COVID-19 recommendations. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for your patience.

COVID-19 Resources Changes

NEJM - New England Journal of Medicine has published a new and FREE video in Clinical Medicine on "How to Obtain a Nasopharyngeal Swab Speciman."

UpToDate - is not making individual subscribers verify their accounts after 90 days for REMOTE ACCESS. In normal times, subscribers would need to log into their UTD account on campus and verify themselves in order to be able to continue remote access. That is currently lifted until the end of September 2020.
