Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery: Eligibility for ILL Services

Patrons Eligible for Interlibrary Loan Services

Those patrons who have access to the Carpenter Library resources are allowed access to ILL service. Please note that if you are only allowed access to resources while on campus, you may not have access to ILL servicing. That process changed on May 15, 2025 to follow licensing agreements. Please see this page for a complete explanation as to access guidelines.
New users should register first on ILLiad, the software we use for submitting and delivering requested material. There is no charge for interlibrary loan or document delivery services for affiliated patrons. A valid email is required to register for an ILLiad account.  That will either be a wfusm.edu or advocatehealth.org email account. Due to the requirement for secure storage of electronic documents, no private, non-institutional emails are allowed.
Requests should be for academic research purposes or work-related activities; requests for non-work-related materials should be submitted to the public library or your school library, if you are taking courses at an outside institution.

*Students enrolled at area colleges, including WFU (main campus), Forsyth Tech, and WSSU should submit requests through the interlibrary loan offices in their respective school libraries.

Request Articles and Books via Illiad Interlibrary Loan System - Affiliated Patrons

Register in ILLiad to request journal articles and book chapters from another library. Please provide as much citation information as you can to ensure accurate processing of your requests.

There is no charge for interlibrary loans or document delivery for affiliated patrons, but we do ask that our patrons limit requests to patient care, research needs or WFUSM course-related material. Requests for outside coursework or personal use should be directed to your public library or outside school.

If you have any questions about interlibrary loan services, please call us at (336) 716-4066, email us at docdelAHWFB@Advocatehealth.org or chat with Deborah Schultz-Fidali through Teams for assistance.
